Today is the last day for the red scraps in the 2012 Rainbow Scrap Challenge.
I did some cleaning of the quilting room this week looking for some red squares for this quilt, and organized a lot of tiny scraps. Some are so adorable... where did this little pig come from?!? I enjoy visiting with old scraps and remembering when I used the larger pieces of yardage, and thinking of the finished quilts (and UFO's!) that they are a part of.
These are the eight 6" crumb blocks I sewed.
They look a little 'blah' in this photo...but they will look terrific when they are put together with other crumb blocks I have been making over the last 2 years - click here to see some the blocks that will join together with these to become a quilt at the end of the year.
Did you see last week that over 20 bloggers posted red scrap projects?!? Amazing! Check out this week's rainbow bloggers.
I wonder what the colour for next month will be?!?
Now this quilt is "RED" and I love it.
ReplyDeleteCute little piggy!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have that many scraps in any one color.
Yes great red crumb blocks. I made some too. I too, love to look at old fabric scraps and think of the past quilts. Makes me think of the ones I have given away and may never see again. I hope the owners still love the quilts.
ReplyDeleteLovely crumb blocks, maybe I need to make some, uhmm. I think my blocks to make list just gets longer and longer!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how good scraps can look when put altogether like that!!! I look forward to seeing how they look next to the other blocks you made - a quilt of many colours......
ReplyDeleteI like visiting old scraps too. Can you remember when and where for most of them?
ReplyDeleteLove your crumb blocks. The extra little novelty bits really do add a lot of interest to the group shot. Can't wait to see them all together. Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to deal with scraps before they get tossed into a bag or box and disappear from sight. I like the size you're making. Easily made and enough room for the fun novelty fabrics you're putting into your blocks.
ReplyDeleteI went back and looked at the other crumb blocks you're making. If you make these gradually all year, you're going to have another fantastic quilt at the end of the year.
I absolutely love crumb blocks too! Yours are very happy!
ReplyDeleteI really like crumb blocks too. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteYour crumb blocks look great! I think that red is one of the hardest colours to photograph. Over the last week I have been eyeing my scrap bins and I can tell you that they will be getting a good work out!
