So many fun things are going on in blogland....quilt alongs, mystery quilts, and this week Jo told us about a pincushion parade over at Beth's "Love Laugh Quilt" blog. Who can resist a parade?!? Not me!
I wrote a blogpost a while ago about these little pincushions I made out of quilt scraps (click here to read more about it). I love these little pincushions and use them every day.
This is the one I use most frequently right now... it sits right beside my machine and is getting pretty dirty!
Of course we've all had these plastic pincushions forever. I like that they are magnetic, so all the pins stay on when you drop them on the ground, which I do regularly. The one on the right has been dropped so much that it is broken, and needed to be retired from active duty ... R.I.P.!
I love this old pincushion that was made for me many years ago by my friend Amie. It sits by my machine and collects all my thread ends (which I keep of course...click here to see my thread storage jar!)
My favorite portable pincushion (well, more like a pinkeeper) is this one made for me by my friend Jackie...it goes everywhere with me.
This is the inside...some pins and some hand quilting needles for stitching on the go.
Hop over to see the pincushion parade...there are amazing pincushions out there to admire and covet!
I love your little pincushions! They are absolutely adorable. I'm tempted to take a couple of small blocks and turn them into a little pincushion now!
ReplyDeleteYour pincushions certainly are a lot prettier than mine.
ReplyDeleteIt must be a common trait of the frequently used ones--they get dirty sitting out, beside us and beside our machines. They're well used and well loved.
Cute cute pincushions! I love the ones you pieced - such little pieces- oh my goodness!!
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like you have a coordinated BUNCH of pincushions! How FUN!
ReplyDeleteA fun little parade...going to join in!
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of cute pincushions, but I can't believe you save thread ends! : )
ReplyDeleteThey are so adorable, hard to choose a favourite.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty pincushions...you have reminded me that I definitely do need to make myself a needle keeper.
ReplyDeleteWaooo!! You have a lot, love the Patchwork ones
ReplyDeleteThe tiny quilt blocks made into pincushions are darling! Thanks for sharing!
