Design Wall Monday #1

First design wall posting of 2012...very exciting!
My sewing room is a total mess and I have too many projects on the go, but on my design wall are my ohio star blocks for the Quiltville Orca Bay mystery
I am almost finished step #7, but Bonnie has revealed the mystery pattern, and it is a gorgeous quilt! I am making a half sized version of this design, and am really enjoying sewing with these Grace (by 3 sisters) fabrics. I can't wait to get some sewing time so I can go on to step #8.
To see how other quilters are progressing with their mystery quilts, visit the links posted at Quiltville.

  24. Your colorway is so "mellow' -- very comforting and easy on the eyes, yet complicated and engaging. I'd say this will be a complete success!! Way to go!!

  27. I can't wait to see it too. I think that next mystery if it has lots of string blocks like the last two, I may do what you did, pick a fabric that I like, maybe even a stripe, and use it instead of the strings. I think that it would definitely make things easier, and make the quilt a little less busy. I'm loving mine, but I think I'd love it as much or more if it were a little less busy. I've given string blocks a try now and I still don't like making them, although I love the way they look. Love your Ohio stars.
