Rainbow Scrap Challenge

It's the last week for the white scrap challenge and I am very happy with my stashbusting efforts this month! First I started a new project - a 36 patch quilt along and used up a lot of white scraps in my first 8 blocks. Then I focused on finishing up the 2 baby quilts I started this month.

Being the colour co-ordinated quilter that I am,  I had to put on some pink nail polish to stitch down the pink bindings!

Two finished baby quilts hanging on the clothesline!
The quilt on the left is machine quilted with loops, and the quilt on the right is stitched in the ditch.
Here is a photo of the backs of the quilts.I ran a row of leftover blocks across the middle of the backings... it looks like a zipper don't you think!?!?
Thanks again to Ruthie for the inspiration for these quilts!
I have a few scraps left from these baby quilts that I am cutting up to sew into more of these 36 patch blocks.

  2. Love the coordinating nail polish! Tee hee!
Such a simple pattern turned out two beautiful baby quilts. This will have to go on my list of nice quick quilts when I need something for donation or gifting in a hurry! (I'm assuming it was a quick pattern. Am I wrong?)
As to the quilting, one features the quilting pattern, the other highlights the fabrics. Both nice.
Love the "zipper" in the back. : )

  5. Great double finishes! I love the loop quilting on the front, but the back of the ditch quilt is so pretty. The matching nail polish is a nice touch. Even a matching 36 patch to add to the fun. Congratulations on a VERY productive month.

  9. Great nail polish and....quilts! It is interesting how different they look just because of the way they are quilted! Beautiful!

  15. Great looking quilts Kathy. Is there a pattern for this or are they just nickel quilt sizes? I have a baby quilt to make and I really like these even though I am not a pink person.
I wish as well as your quilt blog you would do a time management one as I don't know how you manage to accomplish so much.
