Design Wall Monday #22

I have been doing more gardening than quilting these days, but don't have much to show for all the work...yet! So what's on my design wall?
It is the beginning of a donation quilt to be ready for next year's quilt auction. My small sewing group (the Sew 'n Sews) have picked Bonnie Hunter's pattern called "Bricks and Stepping Stones" for our 4th donation quilt.
We are each searching our stashes for more red and blue fabrics for the bricks and I am sewing the black and white 4 patches using fabric from my stash. I love to collect black and whites and am happy to use up some of them in this quilt.
Hop over to Patchwork Times for lots of design wall inspiration.

  3. I wish Bonnie didn't have so many awesome patterns! I want to make them all; who has that magic remote control to pause real-life in order to accomplish this?

    Great reds & blues.

  5. Nice quilt -- that is such a satisfying pattern. It is a great leader/ender project too. And, it busts scraps really well!

  7. Great quilt and thanks for leaving a nice comment on my blog! Reading your's reminded me about VQF! Yikes... how could I have forgotten that. Need to make sure DH is around and ready to watch the kids for a full day for me so I can go relax with some wonderful quilts and help the economy! I hope you have a great stay in VT and enjoy the festival.. it's a great one!

  8. One of my fav blocks (beside Blooming Pineapple). I've made two Bricks & Stepping Stone quilts and have blocks ready for another (from swapping).
I'd be happy to donate reds and blues to your project, just email me.

  10. Love that pattern! I made one in mostly darker colors and it looked sort of masculine even though some of the fabrics had flowers (if you looked closely enough). It's a great stash-busting quilt. I love your reds and blues!
