Design Wall Monday #2

I signed up for the UFO challenge and the first project the participants are supposed to work is UFO #6 on our list. The original #6 on my list appears to be "unavailable"... M. I. A. and A.W.O.L.!
To locate it, would take me a long time, and I would rather quilt than clean/search.
SO...I changed my list!
That is called "creative prioritization of the to-do list".

Ta da...now #6 UFO is my "disappearing 4 patch"! I  had better get to work on it quick before it also disappears!

The blocks for this quilt were shown on a design wall Monday post last September and they were easy to find this week. So on my design wall today is all the blocks sewn together and a border on. I'll tell you, that lime green is bright enough to be a nightlight!

The next step is to figure out something for the backing.

Hop over to Judy's blog and sew what other quilters are working on this week.

  1. Boy, it is bright!, but I like it. Nice solution to your problem. I knew that would happen to me, so I made sure I had ufo in hand before I put it down on my list -lol.

  2. Love this quilt! UFOs are so easy to lose track of around here. Have fun finishing your list!!

  3. I'm still searching for a couple of my UFO's too. I have enough to switch if the number gets called before I find them. It's good that whoever sleeps under this quilt will have their eyes shut, huh?

  9. Sorry to hear that your UFO is MIA. This one looks fabulous though. Good luck with the backing. I usually just have to give up at that point and go shopping.

  10. This is what I call a 'sunglasses' quilt. I make them all the time. They're quilts you need sunglasses to look at! LOL! Love it!

  11. Kathy, I answered your question about my applique circles on my blog. I am also guilty of creative prioritization. I didn't make my list until she had already drawn the #6, so I put what I wanted to work on there. Love your quilt, and the colors!

  16. Judy DID say we could tweak the challenge to fit our needs... good solution. I actually spent over an hour looking for a specific UFO before adding it to my list last month and in the process found several that I had totally forgotten about. Sigh...

  17. Mine had gone missing, too. I have a rule in my house, and especially in my sewing room, when all else fails look under something, and it did finally turn up. The problem gets really bad when there are so many piles to look under, that it would be easier to clean than to look under everything, and who wants to do that, rather than sew? LOL

  26. Did you cut the 9 patches differently to get this design? I've made the pattern once and somewhere have some blocks ready to be sliced up. Gaaa I have no idea where it is... Love the lime green and pinks. It sings to me! Great job.
