On my design wall today is a golden oldie...as in my mystery quilt from last year. Sometimes my projects become UFO's because of my indecisiveness. I just couldn't decide what to do about my Quiltville mystery blocks...see previous posts here. Waiting did not make the decision clearer! So, on the weekend I dug the project box out of the closet and decided that I will separate the two types of blocks...they just didn't play well together.
This is the layout I'm going with for the fox and geese blocks, white sashings, and pink cornerstones. All my blocks are sewn so the top should go together fairly quickly.
And I am auditioning binding fabrics on my "design cutting board" for a mini trip around the world quilt (the squares finish at 1/2").

The pink & green combo has a fresh springy look.
ReplyDeletelove the pink and green and your setting. the mini trip around the world is terrific too! Holy cow, those are teeny squares!
ReplyDeleteI agree, love the pink and green blocks!
ReplyDeleteFor your mini trip around the work, I like the light binding in the upper right corner.
I like your setting of the mystery blocks! And a small quilt is so much easier to finish...
ReplyDeleteAs for the binding I would chose the upper left corner dark one, it makes the quilt'pop'. Just my thought.
Thank you for your supportive comment on my blog!
The TAW quilt is so pretty - I'd choose the light binding in the upper right corner.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I checked out your quilting retreat from 2010 and it looks like so so much fun. I wish I could find a retreat that was close. I am so jealous.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh!! Are you crazy?!!! LOL NOTHING should finish at 1/2"!!! But gosh it sure is cute. And you definitely have my admiration.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful blocks! I love them! Way to sew!
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about those blocks and how I need to do something with them! Yours are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLove the pink and green blocks they are so bright and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteI think your layout for the mystery is great, and the colors are so fresh and pretty.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you laid out the mystery quilt blocks with the sashing. Btw, how does one decide how big or how wide to make the sashing? Is there a rule? Just wondering because I'm leaning toward sashing myself...once I finish the blocks...
