Happy Monday! I enjoyed a fun-filled visit from my sister and her family from Michigan this weekend, so didn't have a lot of time for sewing. At some points there were 10 children in the house...lots of noise and activity!
I insisted on doing some sewing on Sunday afternoon, and I wish I would have taken a photo, because I had my 11 year old niece and 8 year old nephew handing me strips to sew the blocks in the photo on the right. They did a great job of matching a light and a dark and seemed to enjoy the task. I also had my sister and her bestfriend drinking tea and visiting with me, so there were 5 of us in the sewing room!
I was hoping to be able to keep up with Bonnie's mystery from Quiltville, but didn't meet that goal. At this point, part one is almost completed and I have made 2 blocks for part 2. And that is all that is on my design wall today...I had hoped to have 104 of them, but 2 is a good start!
I like those fabrics! Can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteYou are off to a great start on Carolina Christmas - I will be anxious to see your progress by next week!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your color choices for this. I haven't started yet! I have too many other things ahead of it right now but I've got most of my fabric together. ;-) I have to buy my gold which will be a light chocolate brown.
ReplyDeleteCool greens! I had to sew some yesterday too after a busy week. ;-) How fun to have some 'help' in matching! LOL
ReplyDeleteI have the two steps printed out. Gotta finish up some other things before I can start 'Carolina Christmas'. Two is a great start!
ReplyDeleteThat's two more blocks completed than I have. I have my parts for the pieced-triangle half of the blocks ready to be stitched together. Not sure when they will actually get stitched.
ReplyDeleteNo one can keep up with Bonnie. I am one of those people who save and/or print out the directions and then work on things at my own pace. Besides, I am not good at following directions, I like to see what she plans and then take off on my own. I do like your color choices: I have never done a green quilt.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see those greens all done up in this quilt! Sounds like a fun week-end at your house. Glad you were able to start the second step.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to watching your progress. AT the moment I'm doing nothing more than printing out he instructions.
