It's Christmas Time!

Today is like Christmas morning for quilters!
Santa (aka Bonnie Hunter) is bringing us the gift of a new mystery quilt adventure! This year's adventure is called "On Ringo Lake".
I'm going full size with this mystery, which will make a quilt about 75" x 90".
I'm changing my colours to fit the Edyta Sitar fabrics I have been saving for this special project. There will also be lots of scraps, and odds and ends tossed in with these fat quarters. One of the many creative things I've learned from Bonnie is the more variety you have, the most interesting your finished quilt is!
I have been trying to convince some of my quilting friends to start this mystery too and they are coming over tonight, so we'll see how successful I was and who will be cutting and sewing the first step with me.
Are you sewing along with the mystery?!?

I am saving the clues as she presents them in a special envelope next to my computer... we are preparing to move so my stash I will pull from has been all packed away!! I miss my stash but know it is safe and will be better organized in my new space when I unpack it there... wherever there winds up being... we are selling with not a clear focus yet on where we will land! lol Adventure awaits with the much anticipated mystery with Bonnie and our much anticipated home to be forever!!
Love your Edyta fabrics saved just for this mystery too!!! Kathi

I will be making this quilt but I don't know when I will start. I am very tempted to go in my sewing room right now. :)

I am so excited for you. I'm off to bed now but am sure by morning there will be some progress.

I really want to participate this time around but I keep waffling on my fabric choices! I originally pulled navy/mulberry/chartreuse with a cream background, but I am just not happy with how drab it is. Now I am thinking about doing brights with a black background. Decisions, decisions!

I will be a long distance friend sewing along. I am having trouble convincing friends to join in too! They will be so jealous when mine is done!! haha

Great FQ bundle to play with for the mystery. I am using Bonnie's colors because I have those colors piling up and need taming.

Have fun! I hope to sneak in there and start cutting some fabrics for clue 1 today... but have to sew a bit with Emily today on her quilt since Aidan did a little on his yesterday. Hope you are successful in corrupting.... I mean convincing a few more friends to join in the fun.

I'm giving it a try for the first time this year. Since I own a store that ships packages and sells toys and gifts, my December tends to be a whole different level of crazy. oh and my husband works for UPS. Did I say life was crazy busy? Anyway, I am going full on Christmas colors with this - Red Green & Gold with only a few neutrals for the background. I'll use a mix, but not dozens of neutrals. Looking forward to playing along. I hope to give the quilt to my son for his birthday in July so he can use it next Christmas.

I made my 1st set of 10. A pretty good start using my Treadle. It will be fun to see all the color variations. Have fun with your buddies tonight.

Those are going to be fun fabrics for the QAL.

I made my 9-patches yesterday using my green watermelon fabric. This step was fairly simple went fast. It makes me nervous that the next clue will take me a whole week to complete.

Love your colours! For the first time in several years, I think I'm going to stick to Bonnie's colours - perhaps a little more pink than hers due to a lack of a wide variety corals and melons in my collection.

I'm participating in the mystery and managed to sew all 50 of the 9 patches on Friday and Saturday. If my day goes well, I'll write a blog post to link up with Bonnie tomorrow. Can't wait to see your units and all of the colors. =)
